A sad and cold Xmas

Not for us, I hope, but for our gîte (holiday cottage), La Primelle Chênes. And why? Because this Christmas it will be empty and the foyer will be cold.

Last year we had a lovely young couple spend 6 months in Les Chênes over the winter. Marie-Chantale is Québécoise from Montréal and Chris is from Salzburg.

It's lovely to have neighbours over the winter but it's especially gratifying when they fall in love with their temporary home as M-C and Chris (or MCC as we refer to them) so evidently did. M-C is an artist and blogger and you can see her work and writing here:

Chris is software fundi* and is currently working on the IT system for a wine domaine near where they now live in the Luberon.

As for Les Chênes, well perhaps it needs a rest having been well nigh constantly occupied, summer and winter, since we finished building it in the spring of 2008. And the break gives Joan and me some time to make some improvements and do some freshening-up of the décor. It also allows us to invite MCC to come and stay for a few days and rediscover an area they so loved when they lived here. So, MCC, do come and revisit.
